The Monkey Forest in Ubud, Bali, is an expansive nature reserve and temple complex. It is home to around 340 long-tailed Macaques, scientifically known as Macaca fascicularis. Divided into four distinct groups, each occupying different territories within the park, these monkeys are a major highlight of the Sacred Monkey Forest, which attracts more than 10,000 tourists each month.
Within the Monkey Forest, visitors can leisurely stroll and immerse themselves in its tranquil ambiance. Spanning approximately 27 acres (about a tenth of a square kilometer), the forest boasts a rich diversity of flora, including at least 115 different tree species. Notable attractions within the Monkey Forest include the Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal temple, a bathing temple called the "Holy Spring," and another temple dedicated to cremation ceremonies.
